SOUTHERNHART RANCH IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF

ELDERSTATESMAN

Statesman at the age of 19!
He can still do it, and I think I'm getting the hang of it!

Elderstatesman

Lubbock, Texas September, 2005 age 17

Elderstatesman was shown 3 times as a 3 year old earning $14,916. He was Congress Futurity Open Reserve Champion. He was 1 point away from going back to the finals of the NRHA Futurity. They knew something was wrong with him since he wasn't himself. A blood test was finally performed, and it was discovered that he had a staph infection. Statesman spent the next 3 months at a vet clinic. After his recovery, he spent the next 13 years in retirement. I purchased him in October of 2003. This wonderful horse is now escorting me around the rookie pen. I couldn't ask for a more forgiving horse. During his retirement, Statesman sired NRHA money earners, AQHA point earners, and an NCHA money earner. Due to the fact that the Congress Futurity was not NRHA approved, his Congress earnings do not show in the record books. However, we now have NRHA Rookie money won! Statesman will continue to be shown until he says it is time to stop. My heartfelt thanks to Jack and Saranne Oakely of Snowfork Farm for making this possible. I will take great care of him! I have finally gotten the video of the 1991 Congress run on line. Have a seat, hang onto your hat, and click  HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO. If you have problems with it, here it is on the Google video site.
